Hey, Y’all!
It’s that time again, it’s Friday and I can barely wait for that clock to hit 5 for the WEEKEND! And if your weekend consists of transforming from corporate girl to professional wedding guest like me, you have a pretty busy schedule ahead of you! You automatically anticipate your weekend full of travel and a guaranteed good time! Since I seem to be at that age, (and just really cool, jk) I like to plan outfits in advance so I can minimize my packing time or the downtime I might have before I need to start getting ready. I have put together a casual summer outfit that’s great for travel or out and about!
If you saw my post a couple of weeks ago, Made-well White Top, I, of course, was visiting Fort Worth as a professional wedding guest. I had on this crispy little white shirt while I was running around town. Y’ALL. This shirt is amazing! Not only am I an XS in it (YUSSS) but, it is so cute with jeans or tucked into a skirt. You may even be able to get away with wearing it to work depending on your work place’s dress code. Either way, it is perfect for the summer, and if you are in Houston, probably all year long. Let’s be real, it probably won’t be “cold” again this winter. It is also under $70!
I also love this skirt! It, unfortunately, is no longer available on Madewell, but I have a similar update linked. Mini skirts are hard for me to pull off because I have long legs. This one is just long enough for me to wear and not feel too scandalous, haha. Unlike the white shirt, I would definitely not wear this skirt to work and save this one for the weekend. A skirt styled like this is also really cute for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo or any fun Texan activity! I wore it to the rodeo this year and it was so cute styled with cowboy boots. I love the 70’s inspired style of the skirt. The 60’s and 70’s era are some of my favorite time periods in fashion and got so excited when I got to study them in my History of Costume class in college.
Now for my cute little necktie! If you saw my post, Stripes & Twillys All The Way, then you know what I am talking about. I am loving that neckties/ twillys are in style! I know they have been for a while as these little neckties can be seen as somewhat vintage to some, however, it has gotten a lot more “mainstream” lately. I also love it tied on handbags and around the wrist! I think it is such a cute way to add color to your outfit besides statement earrings or a necklace. I have several neckties linked below. I especially think this twilly is so cute for summer! If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a necktie, I would check out some vintage or thrift stores near you. One vintage store in Houston that I LOVE is Cheeky Vintage. You have to check em’ out!I also linked one from Amazon below because let’s be real, Amazon is bound to take over the world, am I right?
