Friends,
What a week it has been! My life seems to be slowly going back to normal as we turn to the Labor Day holiday. I am so fortunate to not have been impacted by the Hurricane Harvey, but some weren’t as lucky. It breaks my heart to hear about family, friend’s, and co-worker’s homes that were destroyed in the storm. This past week, it was so hard to sleep at night not knowing if I would wake up to water in my own home or find that our electricity or water had been shut off. Although I was one of the lucky ones, the constant worry and stress really took a toll on me as it did all of Texas.
LOOKING AT THE BRIGHTER SIDE…
Even though the storm has finally passed, it will take a while for our city to rebuild and the water to drain. I am amazed by the efforts of local businesses and retailers to raise money for relief efforts. Also, I am touched by one of my favorite national retailers, Nordstrom. Nordstrom is honoring those who were affected by the storm by having a direct link to the American Red Cross on their site. That is why I want to shop Nordstrom BIG this labor day. Although I am wearing some older pieces from my wardrobe, I am wearing several current styles from Nordstrom. Lastly, I have rounded up a few other favorite retailers and their Labor Day sales. I believe we need a reason to smile amongst all that has happened in Houston.
