The Perfect Blouse To Go From Work, Day, to Play!

The Perfect Plaid Blouse

Hey, Y’all! Let’s talk about this adorable plaid blouse that is perfect to mix and match this fall. As you know, I love versatile pieces and good quality items! Also, if you have read my post, The Little Black Dress For An Effortless Look, then you know I love outfits that work for multiple occasions. I am always willing to spend more for something I know I can get a lot of wear out of as long as I know the quality represents itself.

I have to admit, I have not always been the biggest fan of plaid. The plaid button-down blouses make me feel like the Brawny man and I am one for a more feminine look. However, when I came across this piece, I knew I had to have it! I saw it at one of my favorite stores that I shop for most of my work clothes. I first thought I could only wear this top to work, but then realized the possibilities are endless! I was working on putting outfit ideas together with it for work and saw how cute it looked with a skirt or jeans! I also love the smocked cuff sleeves that add the perfect amount of sass for the office! Let me show you how I styled this blouse for work, day, and play for right under $60!

This is the perfect blouse to style with your classic work pants or skirt. I am wearing a size XS and the hem is cute tucked in or out. I love that the mock neck keeps a conservative office look. I rotate through all my work pants during the week because my office is freezinggg! Due to working in an igloo, I am honestly more prone to wear pants than a skirt. However, I still like the idea of wearing this blouse with a fun pleated black skirt or a black pencil skirt for work. Honestly, you would even be cute if you went out for drinks in that later! A lot of the time I don’t have a chance to go home before meeting a friend for dinner and just embrace that I am in office clothes. Besides, most other people you find at happy hour are in work attire as well and can always set off that great conversation starter of, “Where do you work?” However, if you have time to change in between, you should opt for this daytime look or this next look for after hours! Shop my work look below.

This plaid blouse also goes perfectly with jeans and flats. I find this outfit perfect for lunch on the weekend or even a casual Friday look depending on your office dress code. Opting for heels instead of flats could definitely dress the look up! However, that’s what I love about this blouse. There are so many ways to style it, that it becomes a staple in your fall wardrobe! You can even roll the sleeves up a bit depending on how much “oomph” you want in the sleeves for an even sassier look. Rolled sleeves may also be a fun nighttime look or your “play look” in this blouse. Before I move on, don’t forget to shop my daytime look below.

Lastly, you can easily transition this fun plaid blouse into a fun dinner or nighttime look. Add this outfit with some big earrings or a necklace and you are set! A leather jacket would also be so cute over this outfit combo once the weather starts to get a little cooler. I especially love suede skirts like these because they are so comfortable and have stayed in style again this season. Suede skirts were introduced more last fall and some the previous spring and love that they are still a staple in my closet! Since this one is from last fall, I have a few similar styles linked for y’all to shop below. To complete this look, add some fun heels like these or some black booties! I love to wear clutches out, like this one here, but I don’t mind opting for a classic crossbody bag as well! Writing about this outfit gets me excited for the weekend and ready for some cooler weather (hopefully soon)!
