Sweating For The Wedding!

It’s almost that time! Wedding week is here, and I am feeling ready as I’ll ever be! I have been going to Revolution Studio for the past 4 years, and I am so excited to have had the opportunity to partner with them this spring! Attending a few classes once a week has not only gotten me ready for swimsuit season but also feeling great for my upcoming nuptials!

If you have been following me for a while now, you know I love to exercise and eat healthily! When I first started blogging, I also wrote a post about my experience on my morning routine taking classes at Revolution Studio. Be sure to check it out here. Well, since then, my work schedule has changed a bit and I now attend mostly weekend or evening classes. I have to say, waking up early to go to spin has definitely been a lot easier than waking up just for work! However, I have loved the evening classes and would always go to bed energized for the next day. It sets the tone for my week and encourages me to continue to eat healthy meals and stay away from sweets (my weakness).

GETTING WEDDING READY

Wedding planning, working full-time, and blogging can get a little crazy if you can imagine. This past year, I would let my workout routine slip and definitely wasn’t attending as many spin classes like I had the past few years. I knew that after my European Christmas Vacation, I would have to put the Nutella down and get back to it! I mean, I feel great now, but I really can’t wait for my honeymoon to have all the Nutella I want again! It’s been hard, Y’all!

So, setting a goal for myself to attend at least one spin class once a week since March has definitely gotten me ready for my wedding! Once I warmed back up to going to spin once a week, I would try to squeeze in two or three classes depending on my schedule. Now that it is finally June, I feel very toned and I have a lot more stamina while taking a class. Oh but let me tell you – those spin classes are not easy! However, after a few months, the work you put into them definitely pays off!

HOW I FIRST STARTED SPINNING & WHY I LOVE REVOLUTION STUDIO

I first fell in love with spin at the TCU Rec Center and I have taken at Revolution Studio ever since moving back to Houston. I have tried Pilates, yoga, and barre classes, but spin has always been my favorite. The music they play at Revolution is so upbeat and motivates me to workout even harder! I have to have good music while working out. Anyone else? I also love spinning on the beat or matching the instructor while spinning so I stay with the flow of the class. I grew up taking dance classes and was on drill team all of high school. Counting music in my head now comes naturally to me and feel like I still have some sort of rhythm while I am spinning. Not only does this help make me front row-worthy, I can anticipate the next move so I can have a more successful workout.

I also love how it is so dark in the spin classes! This is pretty typical for most spin studios but I can really zone into the workout and focus on my own movement. The instructors are SO encouraging and get you to push your hardest every class. Even when I am sore or some days I just don’t feel like working out, I always leave feeling refreshed! All of the instructors at Revolution are so friendly and so encouraging! If you are looking into a spin class or taking a spin class at Revolution, I highly encourage you to take a class where the time works the best for you. All the instructors do a great job of teaching.

Not only do I love these classes because it brings out the inner dancer in me, but I love that it truly is a full-body workout! At Revolution, they don’t just focus on working out your legs, but arms and abs are so important! It’s also fun to see how you can achieve doing crunches and lifting weights on a bike, so I highly encourage you to try it out if you haven’t done so already!

Leaving the class refreshed with an uplifting message from the instructor is by far my favorite part! At the end of each class, you are greeted with a eucalyptus towel to cool off with. Not only does it smell amazing, I don’t feel so gross leaving and hopping back into my hot car! They also have adorable merchandise like this bag and workout gear shown below! A lot of their clothing is Lululemon – my favorite workout brand! I also bought my spin shoes here and it has been life-changing. Revolution provides spin shoes along with a small fee for every class, but a year ago I decided to finally purchase my own. Once you create your user profile with Revolution be sure to note your birthday so you can receive 20% off their merchandise! This is when I decided to finally by my own spin shoes and have never looked back!

I WILL MISS YOU, REVOLUTION!

Now that it is finally wedding week I am so excited to have accomplished so many challenging workouts. I know my body feels good and I feel very toned. I especially can’t wait to wear my wedding dress! Revolution really helped get me ready for the biggest event of my life and I can’t thank them enough! I am hoping they open one in Dallas – just so I can go! It will be one of the places I will miss the most once I move but will be such a treat to come back and spin at one of their classes! 🙂
