The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale For A Non-Cardholder

Hey, Y’all! So, if you are like me, you are excited for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale,  but it’s not something you necessarily have marked your calendars for. Don’t get me wrong – this sale is AMAZING! However, I have to be real with myself and all of my readers. I like WAYYY too many stores and the majority of the clothing included in the sale is new fall and winter styles. While I love pairing fall and winter outfits, the thought of buying a sweater in this Texas heat just doesn’t register! Of course, now that I live in Dallas, it may be a little chiller than Houston this fall and I’m sure I will be kicking myself later. You have probably seen my wish list and know they are at least on my mind! I am not a Nordstrom cardholder so I can’t shop the items from the sale early. Based on my mixed following, you will most likely be shopping the sale on July 20th with me (if I can wait until then)!

I have shopped the sale for the past couple of years, but ever since I started blogging, I started to pay more attention to the sale. This year is technically my first year to shop it as a blogger. Last year when the sale hit, I had just started blogging. Knowing my audience more and how the sale works, I have more of a strategy on how to shop the sale especially as a non-cardholder.

I decided to come up with my own strategy called “sell out” strategy. Not only do I apply this to the Nordstrom sale, I apply this to other retailers as well. It is when I see an item I want has gone out of stock or is out of stock in my size and will watch it like a hawk until it replenishes itself. Usually, an item gets restocked, and I make the decision on whether or not I should buy the item! Usually, if I really want the item and it’s back in my size, I take that as a sign and snag my purchase! Having worked in corporate retail, this only makes sense to me and the retailer based on quantities bought and allocated online. So, it is VERY IMPORTANT to remember if something sells out watch the item because it has a high chance of being restocked. Retailers want to restock items that sell so it’s a no-brainer for them to feed the beast. So, DO NOT FRET! If you really like an item, I would set email reminders and check several times a day for it to be restocked.

With that all being said, I think it is important to focus on select categories for this gigantic sale. I have narrowed down the categories that I think are the most important and will give you the most out of the sale including –  1. Basics 2. Investment Pieces 3. Beauty/Skin Care.

1. BASICS

So many great basics come from Nordstrom and are apart of the sale! Wooo! I loveee that hanky-panky, Natori, Eberjey, and basic tee shirts are all included. Hanky-panky and Natori are my tried and true brands. Their quality and price point exceed any others out there and are just some things I can’t live without! I also have 5 pairs of Eberjey pajamas and believe they are truly the BEST. They are so soft and you will never want to change out of them! I may have introduced you to my bad habit but I’m sure you will be thanking me later! I have rounded up my favorites above! Click the image and you will be directed to the item to shop.

2. INVESTMENT PIECES

If you are wanting a new coat or a new handbag for work, now is the time to grab one! I have had some of my coats that I have gotten on sale for almost 5 years and they still look great! This could be because I live in Texas, but either way now is a great time to snag one on sale. This is when the investment piece coat is worth it like this Barbour one. Also, there are so many Tory Burch finds for a new handbag for work! Not only will this come in handy every day, you can lug something cute around to dinner later. I also rounded up a few pairs of shoes that I have my eyes on and would definitely be worth the price! Just like basics, click the image and you will be directed to the item to shop.

3. BEAUTY/ SKIN CARE ITEMS

Believe it or not, a lot of my make up comes from Nordstrom! Soooo what a better time to grab some then now? My Clarisonic is something I use every day. I have had mine for 5+ years and continuously helps with my complexion. However, I think I am going to have to try the Foreo face brush! I have been eyeing it for a while, and think this is the perfect opportunity to grab one!  I have very sensitive skin and love to find a few pieces here and there on sale.

I hope breaking this down helped you understand the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale a little bit better! Now let’s just see if I have enough patience to wait until July 20th without signing up for the Nordstrom card!

xo,
